Please read this letter from the Pastoral Team at New Beginnings for an update on how New Beginnings Lakeside is currently handling gatherings in light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
POSTED: MARCH 22ND
New Beginnings family, this is our March 22, 2020 update on some of our plans as we respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are blessed to live in a time where the necessary technology exists to respond to this pandemic in a prudent way. We are trusting that God is in control and have been searching for solutions that allow us to GATHER in such a way that will not endanger the members of our church or community as we work together to limit the spread of this virus. With that being said, here is how we will be conducting our gatherings and Worship services:
Worship Services: Live Stream
Until further notice, our main services will continue to be held online on Sundays at 10AM. We will be streaming them on both our Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/NBLakeside/) and YouTube channels (https://www.nblakeside.org and click the Latest Message Link). At 9:55AM Central Time Services will begin streaming with a 5 minute countdown. The stream will offer worship, teaching, and communion just as we usually do on a Sunday morning. You can prepare a communion setting ahead of the streaming of the service with crackers, bread, juice or water. Communion will directly follow the Message. Please continue to GATHER with us from your home.
Let’s Make Every Effort to Stay Connected
We will be attempting to stay connected in a variety of new and creative ways! Please be prayerful and make every effort to join us as we stream Worship and Teaching, Worship Events, Home Groups and much more.
We are beginning to film short teaching videos and will be posting them online each week for our Lakeside Kids ministry. In addition, we will be uploading curriculum sheets we use each week so that you can work together as a family and continue to teach your little ones at home. We will update you when these uploads begin.
The BARN Student Ministry
The BARN will not be meeting at the Frey’s house. Instead, starting Sunday, March 22, we will begin streaming worship and Bible teaching for our student ministry, Middle School and High School. This will be streamed every Sunday evening at 5PM Central.
Video Online Chat Starting soon: We are also developing an understanding on utilizing an online Video Chat resource called Zoom so that we can open interaction opportunities for people to socialize and discuss the weekly teachings.
We will be continuing our home groups through a service called ZOOM. It’s of no cost to you and is an easy way to video chat with multiple people. Discussion questions will continue to be posted online. Each week, our home group leaders will send out email invitations to the group. It’s as easy as clicking the link provided in the email and you are in the group! We urge everyone to join in on these groups, as prayer and fellowship are essential in a time like this! Make sure you download the Church Center app and establish a username and password. Select New Beginnings Lakeside as your local Church.
To facilitate more prayer for one another, for our community, for our nation, and for our world, we have set up a Facebook group that we are encouraging everyone to join. Use this group to post and respond to prayer requests. Let’s be a people of prayer, and all the more so at this time!
Tithes and offerings can still be made in 3 different ways.
1. The first way is ONLINE (https://www.nblakeside.org/give). You can give easily and securely through the “GIVE” tab on our website or via the Church Center app.
2. The second way is through TEXT. Simply text any dollar amount to 84321 and follow the set up instructions.
3. And finally, you can mail checks to New Beginnings at 11420 Middle Mt. Vernon Rd. Evansville, IN 47712.
We know that for many, not holding physical gatherings at this time is disappointing. We are disappointed too. But we believe that love and wisdom compel us to find creative ways to ASSEMBLE during this time. The writer of Hebrews in Hebrews 10:24-25 said this: “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
We will be sending out regular updates via email and posting updates to Social Media platforms. You can follow us on our New Beginnings Lakeside Church Facebook page and our Instagram pages: @nblakeside, @nblakesideyouth, and @lakesidehighschoolministry.
God Bless and we’ll connect with you each weekend online for Worship!
